Mirage

This oil painting was inspired by the artist's love of the seashore. It is painted on gallery-wrapped deep cradle canvas with all sides painted white so it is ready to hang and does not require a frame. To enhance the feeling of a mirage created by heat and water creating a hazy look, the figures are painted in a somewhat dreamy and impressionistic way. Charcoal is used along with layers of oil paint.
