Moraines - Maple, Wisconsin

The town of Maple, Wisconsin is quite picturesque, containing scenic landscapes and rolling hills; this painting was inspired by a particular sheep farm south of Lake Superior. It was created with beeswax and botanical pigments on a heavy-weight cotton printmaking paper; each color source is handmade and includes botanical sources of onion skin, logwood, cochineal, buckthorn berries, and Japanese indigo grown in Minnesota.

The artwork is mounted on a hardwood cradle with an acid-free wheat paste and framed with a poplar floater frame with natural finish. An additional layer of protection is added with an additional layer of wax and UV varnish. Ready to hang. Overall size with frame is 31”h x 61”w x 3”d framed
