Luminous Pendant

This steel pendant captures the interaction of metal, texture, and light. Forged from steel and deeply etched using the artist’s Radical Etching technique, its tactile surface shows overlapping strata of pattern and depth. Multiple layers of gold leaf, bonded through the ancient keum-boo technique, create rich variations of brilliance against the darkened steel. Suspended from a 20-inch, 2 mm blackened sterling silver snake chain, it closes with a lobster clasp.
