The Story
These enamel earrings feature hand-drawn designs and multilayered enamel finishes that highlight the saturated color and luminosity of glass. Combining drawing, painting, texture and pattern, they are created using the centuries-old technique of enameling on metal with contemporary materials and methods. Each earring is sculpturally formed from steel to play with light and shadow, then coated with multiple thin layers of glass and pigment. The layers are fused in a kiln at 1,500 degrees, creating a rich, luminous surface. Spinel gemstone beads are attached with fused 18k gold pins as a final embellishment. Sterling silver ear wires.
