Growth

"Growth" is an abstracted forest made by freehand cutting long organically-curved lines and building a composition with figure/ground tension; at nearly 7 square feet, the viewer is enveloped in this forest of growth. Barbara Danzi cut all the lines and shapes freehand, then machine-pieced them into a flat quilt while retaining the visual dimension. Matchstick quilting adds texture but keeps the focus on the graphic design.

Quilt has a fabric sleeve on the back and includes a wooden slat which fits in the sleeve for hanging.
