Cherry Amber Ruby Sphere

This large sphere is created through the murrine technique, which Patchen has mastered and uses in most of his work. This large and thick glass sphere incorporates murrine with rings of transparent cherry, amber and gold ruby glass all inside a window of enamel white. Double encasing the work while blowing it makes this sphere substantial and provides optical depth and dimension. Murrine patterns are individually created by Patchen and each piece is individually blown making every sphere a truly unique work.
