$332.50The Story
This vase is hand thrown on the potters wheel, and when the clay has stiffened, two rings of stitching holes are drilled on the side panel. The vessel is then saggar fired, in which the vessel is placed in a lidded container, and covered with sawdust, sand, and other materials, which burn away during the firing and leave soft, stone-like colors on the clay surface. After firing, the side panel is inlaid with short sections of the fruit stalks of the Kentia Palm. The clay is semi-porous, so an insert should be used to display cut flowers or potted plants.
- Materials: Stoneware, Wood
