Blue Butterfly & Summer Flowers Oval Tile

This botanical bas relief tile artwork was created using Delphinium flowers, Shasta Daisies and Coreopsis from artist Ruth Welter's home garden. All the flowers in this piece are painted in watercolor. The subtle shades of cocoa in the background are achieved by the cocoa brown-colored clay used, imparting it's color onto the white plaster during the casting process. The blue butterfly is created using acrylic paints and mediums along with a brush and palette knife to create the details.

Made from a very hard, stone-like plaster finished with a matte sealant, this piece of artwork is meant to be displayed indoors. As these pieces are not kiln-fired ceramics, they cannot be used in showers or as kitchen backsplashes.

Signed on the back and ready to hang.
