The Story
Big Red and Company is a piece created from the beauty of the artist's own garden. Big Red is a hibiscus in all its glory, surrounded by the company of dwarf ixora, (an orange spiky flower). It flowers from the tree known as "yesterday, today, and tomorrow." This tree is known as such because on the first day the flowers are purple, the second day the same flowers turn lavender, and on the third day, they become white. The entire composition is set against a black background, lending a grand sense of drama.
