This unique and quietly moving wall sculpture combines art glass, gold waterglass mirror, wood and stone.
The entire base is a mosaic that depicts a representation of a river cutting across a barren landscape: along the banks of the river are gold deposits where economically deprived persons in Africa are forced into illegal mining activities. The wood which has been sliced, sanded and covered in resin represents barren mountains and is adhered to the surface of the mosaic. A closer look will reveal small polished stones in some of the crevices of the wood.
