Aspen Map Two - Large

This giclee print is based on an original acrylic and ink painting using an antique topographic map as the paper. This artist has always been interested in these maps as abstract representations of the landscape. Starting with the colors of the map provides a perfect middle tone from the which the white aspen trees emerge. The hand drawn lines on the tree trunks repeats the topo lines on the map and the shapes depicted on the maps are chosen and painted in two tones of blue to represent lakes and rivers.
