Safeness

Fences and walls are built to provide security to make one feel safe. Safeness is a wired wall holding feelings and vulnerabilities, keeping them safe from outside forces. Many of Carson's works express this fragility, the desire to feel calm, safe, and secure. Although being made of glass and thin wire things are left quite vulnerable. Illustrating how delicate we actually are. This piece has been drawn, painted, and fired several times to fuse and shape with hand-woven wire across the top.
